Parcel Room values its customers and respects their privacy. We collect customer information in an effort to improve our customers' shipping experience and to communicate with our customers about our products, services, contests, and promotions. Parcel Room recognizes that it must maintain and use customer information responsibly. We do not sell or rent the information you provide us online to third parties. However, we do share your information with third parties under required certain circumstances necessary for the sale or shipment.
This policy describes the personal information we collect about you, why we collect it, how we use it, and when we share it with third parties. If our information practices change in the future, we will let you know by posting the policy changes on our website or by communicating directly with you. What kind of information does Parcel Room collect?
We collect information -- such as your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and credit card number -- that you provide to us when you place an order, and when you save your info with us or participate in a contest, promotion, or survey. We also maintain a record of your product interests and purchases online.
How does Parcel Room use my information?
When you ship something at ParcelRoom.com, we use the information you provide us to process your order. We will also send you an email message confirming that your order has been received. Additionally, we may need to contact you via phone, postal mail, or email if we have other questions regarding your order.
If you purchase from us online, we will also send you notices about our products, services, contests, and promotions through email or postal mail. Don't worry -- if you have previously asked to be removed from our email list, we will not send email notices about our products, services, contests, and promotions if you place an order. Please note that it may take six to eight weeks for our systems to be updated when unsubscribe requests are made.
When you save your info with us -- online or over the phone -- you will be automatically signed up to receive email messages from us regarding our products, services, contests, and promotions. However, if you participate in a contest or promotion, you may choose whether or not to receive email messages from us regarding our products, services, contests, and promotions. Please note that you may still receive information from or about Parcel Room in connection with the contest or promotion. From time to time, we may also send you email messages to help us learn more about your shopping preferences. In addition, we maintain a record of your product interests and purchases to help us improve our site design and your shopping experience.
We want to communicate with you only if you want to hear from us. If you prefer not to receive information from us about our products, services, contests, or promotions via email, postal mail, or phone, please contact us via email at info@ParcelRoom.com. Please be sure to include your email address, full name, and password. It may take up to eight weeks to complete your request.
Does ParcelRoom share my information with third parties?
We contract with third parties to assist us in maintaining and managing our customer information, to fulfill promotions, and to communicate with our customers. However, we do not authorize any of those third parties to use your information in any other way. In addition, when we team up with another company to offer or provide products, services, contests, or promotions, we and the other company may cross-reference our customer databases to identify common customers. We and the other company may use that existing information to fulfill contractual or promotional obligations and to identify future promotional opportunities. When we offer contests and promotions, or join with another company to do so, customers who choose to participate in those contests and promotions may be asked to provide personal information in order to participate. That information may then be used by us and the other company to notify winners or to fulfill promotional obligations.
Except as described above, we do not rent, sell, or share any information we collect to or with any unaffiliated third party.
What about links to other Web sites and services?
The Parcel Room Web site may contain links to other sites that are not under our control. These Web sites have their own policies regarding privacy, and you should review those policies before visiting these sites. Parcel Room has no responsibility for linked websites and provides these links solely for the convenience and information of our visitors. Google Advertising Cookie and Privacy Policies
What is the DoubleClick DART cookie?
The DoubleClick DART cookie is used by Google in the ads served on publisher websites displaying AdSense for content ads. When users visit an AdSense publisher's website and either view or click on an ad, a cookie may be dropped on that end user's browser. The data gathered from these cookies will be used to help AdSense publishers better serve and manage the ads on their site(s) and across the web.
What should I put in my privacy policy?
Your posted privacy policy should include the following information about Google and the DoubleClick DART cookie:
- Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on your site.
- Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.
Because publisher sites and laws across countries vary, we're unable to suggest specific privacy policy language. However, you may wish to review resources such as the Network Advertising Initiative, or NAI, which suggests the following language for data collection of non-personally identifying information:
